Western Digital 2TB External Review

This is a review of the Western Digital 2TB External Hard Drive. Hi folks! It’s Russell here. Recently I got myself a brand new USB External Hard Drive from the “Western Digital” brand and I want to share my honest opinion on it. The reason I’m doing this is because as I was searching for a new External Hard Drive I came across many reviews that were WAY too technical or, just tried to talk me into buying something from them. And because of that, I decided to write a review of this product for simple people just like me, without using complicated term and making it simple for those who aren’t that familiar with Computer hardware.

I have to admit on something here: I’m an information and downloads junkie! If there is a new course coming out on the internet teaching some “new cool sneaky secret tactic” I just must have it! Same thing goes for music and movies: I have over 80 FULL Discographies and about 60 Videos on my old Pentium 4 and there’s just NOT ENOUGH SPACE to contain all of it! Personally I HATE when my computer gives me the annoying: “There is not enough room on your hard drive” Error, and considering the fact that using the “Hard Drive Cleaner” option doesn’t makes any significant changes to the memory, I decided it’s gonna be a moneywise decision to purchase a new External hard drive in order to contain all of my stuff, because from my research external hard drives are a LOT cheaper than external ones and, they have the same quality. And after a lot of research i bought the Western Digital 2TB External Hard Drive

On the official company page of the Western Digital 2TB External Hard Drive it said that this model is very simple to use because all we need to do is to is to plug it into the USB hole and then the hard drive will activate itself immediately and we will be able to use it. As for “activate itself immediately”, on my Pentium 4 it took about 30 seconds for the computer to find it and about 10 seconds on my AMD laptop. Another important thing is that it says on the sales page that the product has 2 Terabytes of memory (2,000 Giga Bites) The truth is that it has around 1,999 Gigas and this is because there are no hard drives with EXACTLY 2,000 Gigas (or any other EXACT number) this actually goes for all hard drives, external and internal, I am not 100% sure about the reason, but for me it’s enough to know that it applies to all of the hard drives around the world.

I have to admit that personally I’m very satisfied with the purchase I made. The Western Digital 2TB External Hard Drive works great and keeping my files in a safe place. The only thing that I didn’t like about it is that the devise itself is shiny and easily attracts fingerprints, but I guess that most people won’t mind about it. Overall the devise is very quiet and doesn’t heat up as much as most devices (thus it’s more liable). The list price for the Western Digital 2TB External Hard Drive is $230 and it’s the same in most computer stores. There was a discount for this product on Amazon and I got it from there for about 135 bucks, I think they still give up the discount so you better check it out and see if it’s still available!
